“Dates With a Jesus Gay” presents coming-out stories of LGBT Christians, people like me who grew up in faith only to find their identity clashing with their upbringing. The one-season podcast of 13 episodes features diverse stories from all kinds of queer people, including my own. In this teaser episode, I introduce myself, my first guest, and the show’s balance of humor and vulnerability.

Did you ever see the creepy animated Don Bluth film from the 80s, The Secret of NIMH? I did, and adored it. Then, as an adult, I found the book it was based on, and ate it right up. In this recording, I present the spooky scene between Mrs. Frisby and the Great Owl, as she seeks advice for how to save her little mouse family.

Documentary.

I love a Wikipedia wormhole, or a book about some offbeat science or history topic. When you dig at the little details of the world around us, they often give way to surprising connections. Latif Nasser, host of RadioLab, often feeds this curiousity for me, so I recording a reading of a Twitter thread he wrote, describing our continent’s ancient geology and its connection to modern day elections.
